| In 1974. Vlasta Pokrivka established the "Kvak" Puppet Theatre. Simplicity and poetry are the key to the theatre's expression. The puppets are used as a means of promoting life's values and entering a child's deeper spiritual spheres. This is also the subject of long-term research. |
Besides puppet performances, the theatre provides professional assistance for teachers through workshops, lectures, specialised literature, individual meetings, etc.
The theatre has participated in many cultural events in Croatia and Europe, and has received important awards, notably first prize awarded by the Professional Jury of the International Puppet Festival in Tromso (Norway) in 1978 and the special prize at PIF (Pupteatra Internacia festivalo) 1983 in Zagreb. "Kvak"has been invited to nine European countries (Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and Italy) and has given performances in sixty-one towns and cities. |
